This could be what I’ve been waiting for – the replacement for my Dopod U1000. 3.8 inches screen is close to 4 inches that I think I could accept. My only concern is the 800×480 non-standard aspect ratio, which is sure to cause headache is software compatibility.
Hope they have built in FM radio.

I think you and I have been holding on to the Dopod U1000 because no other device has come close to the features in the U1000. I need a large screen and the 3.8″ screen of the Touch HD will entice me to switch. Any buyers for my U1000?
Yes, it has FM and they are launching the Touch HD today in Europe though it will be available only next month.

Good to hear that it comes with FM. I’ve been looking for more convergence. Hopefully television will be next.
I’ll keep my U1000 while getting used to the new replacement model. In that way, if the replacement model turns out to be a disappointment I can at least go back to my U1000. To be honest, U1000 has been a really good convergent device.
