HTC TOUCH PRO COMING TO MALAYSIA ON….

August 22nd, 2008 Mike Hornet Posted in HTC TOUCH PRO No Comments »

As I have posted earlier, it should not be later than September but possibly in August.  I am sure HTC cannot hold the  launch any later as the Touch Pro is all over Europe already.

Looking at the photos below make you wish it is available now in Malaysia.

I love the numerical rows and the backlit on the QWERTY keyboard:

Comparing it with the HTC TyTN II, the Touch Pro looks small.

Sony Ericsson will be expected to ship the XPERIA X1 between the 6th and 12th of October. The XPERIA X1 will be retailing at US$1,100 (RM3,630).

With the expected arrival of the XPERIA X1 are you holding out for the slim HTC Touch Diamond, 16GB Samsung Omnia, the keyboard HTC Touch Pro, or the XPERIA X1?  Difficult choice, huh?

HTC TOUCH PRO SELLING IN EUROPE

August 17th, 2008 Mike Hornet Posted in HTC TOUCH PRO No Comments »

The HTC TOUCH PRO has landed in Europe and more reviews and users experiences are popping up on the Internet.  Below are some photos and comments from Mobiletech Addicts:

The HTC Touch Pro in all its glory…

“HTC have taken the flack on the Diamond, learned from it and released a very solid, well performing device, the TouchFlo 3D works perfectly now and enhances the device greatly.  Added to that, high quality hardware, a great slide out keyboard, lots of Ram and this device is a winner. Its a work horse with a lot of power and runs as smooth as silk. I cannot think of many negatives, it has all the features, good battery life, good camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. “

Positives

  • Touch Flo3D
  • Slide Out QWERTY Keyboard
  • VGA Screen
  • HSDPA
  • GPS

Negatives

  • It feels fat but it is not really compared with the Nokia N95
  • Still not a fan of the angled back panel

The weekend is here. Exclusive for you … even Aidan* is thinking of the HTC Touch Pro.  With HTC Touch Pro on sale in Europe, we in Asia should not wait too long either.  I am expecting an August launch or the latest by first week September.  Europe is selling the Touch Pro at 514.99 British Pound (RM3,211).

HTC, please don’t keep us waiting so anxiously to touch it, otherwise I will tell Aidan…

*That’s one cute baby, man!
Not only cute, this little baby boy is priviledged to touch every new HTC phone earlier than anyone of you.  He is real close to HTC.

UNBOXING THE HTC TOUCH PRO

August 14th, 2008 Mike Hornet Posted in HTC TOUCH PRO No Comments »

The HTC Touch Pro™ 2.8-inch VGA touch screen provides four times the resolution of most smart devices, making email, documents and web pages sharper and easier to work with than ever before.

HTC’s rich, touch-responsive interface, TouchFLO™ 3D, provides a stunningly intuitive way to zip through common tasks like messaging, calendar checks or making calls. The 5-row QWERTY keyboard slide out to make easy work when you need to type a lot like composing email or working on Microsoft Office® documents. You have high speed connectivity and integrated GPS to give you the mobile advantage.

So while you are waiting for the HTC Touch Pro to come to your shore, enjoy the ‘unboxing’ video clip first:

HTC’s MOST IMPRESSIVE HANDSET: TOUCH PRO

August 12th, 2008 Mike Hornet Posted in HTC TOUCH PRO, SAMSUNG, iPhone No Comments »

I fully agree with the comments from Ryan Block of Engadget on the HTC Touch Pro that “there’s no question to us that the Touch Pro is HTC’s most impressive handset to date (even if you count the Xperia X1)”.   I am getting excited and waiting to get my hands on the Touch Pro. Check out the photos from Engadget:

Comparison shots of the HTC Touch Pro with the Touch Diamond and the iPhone:

touch-pro-vs-diamondiphone.JPG

The 3G iPhone may have a 620 Mhz ARM CPU processor but is underclocked, with some reported it to perform at only 400 Mhz.  HTC Touch Pro goes all the way with 528 Mhz CPU.   HTC should have followed the trend for higher memory like the 8/16 GB in the 3G iPhone and Samsung Omnia.  The 3.15 MP camera of the Touch Pro with 2048 x 1536 pixels is very much better than the 2 MP 3G iPhone but lose out to the Samsung Omnia 5 MP camera.

Built-in Wi-Fi and TV-out functionality mean you can hook up to the local wireless hot spot to surf, then deliver the perfect PowerPoint® presentation without a laptop in sight.

Until the HTC Touch Pro is launched, the Samsung Omnia is the best smartphone available today!

HTC TOUCH PRO COMES WITH TV-OUT

June 5th, 2008 Mike Hornet Posted in HTC, HTC TOUCH PRO, RAPHAEL No Comments »

2 OF MY WISH LIST ITEMS FOR A MOBILE DEVICE ARE :

  1. TV-OUT
  2. PROJECTOR

The HTC Touch Pro has followed the HTC Advantage and O2 Flame’s standard by including the TV-OUT feature.  To me the TV-OUT feature is very useful for showing out your photos or doing business presentations.

touch-pro-tv-out.JPG

Many were surprised that HTC drop the Tilt feature of the TyTN II and only have the slide out keyboard in the Touch Pro.  I have used the TyTN II and found that despite it having a tilt feature to allow it to sit on the desk, you still have the tendency to take it up and see the screen.  Unlike the HTC Advantage which has a 5″ screen, the TyTN II’s screen is too small to be sitting down.

The TV-OUT feature will be more useful than the Tilt feature and it earns my top marks.  My only regret is that HTC did not bundle the TV-OUT cable in the package.
