Toshiba also unveiled the Portégé G710 which is a new slim-line smartphone running on Windows Mobile 6 Standard OS.  I always prefer a touch-screen phone. I will give this a pass.

A smartphone built for the demanding business user that need fast and easy access to mobile E-Mail. Its slender, stylish design and built-in GPS function makes the G710 perfect for those who want reassurance of getting from A to B in time.

The Portégé G710 has a full QWERTY keypad making response to E-Mails quick, easy and efficient and being completely compatible with Microsoft Exchange server, the G710 offers push E-Mail access and the facility to open and edit attached documents sent. The G710’s slim and stylish design gives it an understated elegance. It allows for up to 200 hours and up to 180 minutes of talk time. Like the G910 it has an outdated 2.0 mega pixel camera.  Screenwise it has a large TFT screen boasting 65K colours in order to display crystal clear pictures and maps.

THE PDA PHONE THAT LOOKS LIKE A MINI NOTEBOOK

g910b.JPG

Toshiba today unveiled the Portégé G910 Windows Mobile smartphone. The G910 is an advanced smart mobile device for the professional user. Built around Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the G910 offers the full suite of Microsoft Office Mobile, including PowerPoint Mobile, Word Mobile, Excel Mobile and Outlook push E-Mail. The G910 also features a biometric fingerprint security solution for instant, secure access to the phone.  It has built in GPS for real-time navigation and has a high resolution 3″ Wide-VGA touch screen that is perfect for displaying web pages.

I like the sleek clamshell design with its full QWERTY keyboard. It will make you feel like you are using a mini notebook. The biometric fingerprint reader which only identify the owner will ensure you total privacy.

The built-in GPS function has added benefits to the user by mapping out location and directions from A to B in seconds, perfect for the busy business traveller trying to find their way in a city or new town/country.  With the Qualcomm’s gpsOneXTRA Assistance technology, it has greater GPS sensitivity indoors and in difficult-to access urban environments. The Toshiba Portégé G920 which will be launced later will support A-GPS.

With its unique 3″ wide-VGA touch screen display the user will see more information with less scrolling and provides them with a resolution that is five times better than a standard QVGA display. I love VGA screens

What I don’t understand is why only a 2 mega-pixel camera when the current standard is 3 mega-pixel. Extra storage is supported with the micro SD card.
