When the HTC Tatoo was launched in Malaysia, I posted here that  ” I believe the Tatoo can be upgraded to Android 2.0 in due course….(http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/3148) “.   Now that the Tatoo is going to get an upgrade to Android 2.1 it will be a superb addition to such a cheap phone.   You will now be able to view multiple home screens at once and the social networking Friend Stream widget.  And also the awesome Google Maps Navigation.

The upgrading of the HTC Tatoo to 2.1 will mean that Google will also do so across the board for all their other models.   Slow versions upgrade can kill a product.  Likewise Microsoft, if they don’t release WM7 in time, they will lose their market share too.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs:

“We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it. We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours.”

This action by Apple must have surprised HTC as it never happened before.  It looks like after the release of those Google phones, Apple got angry because it felt that the Google phones are going to damage their turf and they are not going to sit down and do nothing like what Steve Jobs said.

As I told you before, the Android OS will shake everyone up… and Apple is reacting hard!

When the Google NEXUS ONE is released in your country you better rush to the stores to get it before Apple get a court injuction to stop the sale.  The Nexus One will become a collector’s item.

HTC Incredible mobile phone :

“Right before the start of the Mobile World Congress 2010, where we will go with a team to find the remaining news items that have not yet slipped through the large cracks in the (Inter)net, information has been leaked about the HTC Incredible smartphone. This HTC smartphone will be included in Verizon’s assortment and will apparently be one of the fastest smartphones available. The HTC Incredible mobile smartphone will have a large format display, although the exact dimensions are not clear yet, but will be approximately 3.7 inches. The HTC Incredible’s speed will be achieved thanks to the fast Snapdragon processor with a fast 256MB RAM.”

HTC Incredible Android smartphone:

“In terms of operating system, we can expect the newest Android OS, Android 2.1 combined with the known HTC Sense technology. We are not so sure yet if the rumor about the display is correct, namely that the HTC Incredible will be equipped with an AMOLED display. If it were a Samsung smartphone, we would be convinced right away. We will wait and see, and most likely be able to announce full specifications in a few days during the MWC 2010 in Barcelona.”

HTC Incredible camera phone:

“The HTC Incredible is of course equipped with a digital camera, although it is not known yet how many pixels will be included in the sensor, but we are assuming 5 Megapixels. Apparently the HTC Android smartphone will be equipped with an extra powerful flash in the form of a Dual LED flash. The social networks such as Facebook and Flickr will be included in the package offered to the HTC Incredible user. The HTC Incredible is expected to be made available in March of 2010. ”

After HTC INCREDIBLE, expect another HTC model to follow up – it’s the HTC SCORPION and is rumoured to come with WiMax support, the unreleased yet Android 2.2 OS  and a blazing fast Qualcomm 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon processor.

HTC is to release their version of the NEXUS ONE.  Slated for an European launch it will be known as the HTC BRAVO.  The specs below for the Bravo looks similar to the Nexus One:

• 3.7″ AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen – 800 x 480
• 1 GHz Snapdragon Processor
• 256MB RAM
• 512MB ROM on-board storage (~256MB free for apps)
• 5MP Camera with flash and 720p video capture
• Optical Sensor instead of trackball (not for the NexusOne)

You will find that the Bravo comes with HTC Sense UI (updated for Android 2.1) and the new tech optical scrolling sensor which is found in some new phones from Blackberry, Motorola, and HTC itself.    Some other improvements dual LED flash (vs. the single of the Nexus One), and hard buttons for phone functions.    With all these pluses I don’t quite understand why the RAM is less than the 512MB of the Nexus One.  Hope they up it when they launch Bravo.

The BRAVO may be cheaper by US$100 of the Nexus One.  So will you go for it and lose out on the GOOGLE EXPERIENCE which can only be found in Nexus One?

I will go for the NEXUS ONE – it’s a future phone!

You can get yourself a nice-looking cradle @ $31.  It will charge and sync your HD2.  If you enjoy watching movie on your HD2 the extended 2300mAh battery @ $55 will be very useful as it has a kickstand at the back.  You may also need a capacitive stylus @ $25  when your fingers are not practical.   The carkit @ $85 looks interesting as it has pass-through charging.  It automatically launch into navigation mode when you place it in the cradle.

From HTC, a trophy to you:

It took HTC a while but it was said that Palm and HP were the ones that cause  HTC to delay the release of such a model.  Back then HTC was supplying phones to Palm and HP.

The HTC Trohpy has a front-facing QWERTY keyboard for single-handed usage and a touch-screen – at the same time.   Will it be powered by Windows Mobile 7 or Windows Mobile 6.6 when it is launched?   How about a camera with autofocus? A capacitive display?

Whenever you see a prefix “i” you will always connect with an Apple product.  Apple has gone one step further, it has electronised the word PAD.   Ladies you won’t be alone using your pad, now the male species is going to use the pad too … not once a month … but EVERYDAY!

Honestly I don’t think I will own an iPad.  It has too many limitations:

• NO  FLASH ON SAFARI
• NO  CAMERA
• NO  MULTITASKING
• NO  SKYPE SUPPORT AS THERE IS NO VOIP
• NO  USB PORT

The iPad is a great innovation but the above missed-outs make you stick to your NETBOOK.  NO PAD FOR ME, I DON’T NEED IT!
